One of the most liked delicacy in Telangana is Mokajonna garelu (corn vada) with Natu kodi pulusu (country chicken curry) is generally consumed as a Sunday brunch. The chicken curry is definitely a high on protein and vada is deep fried is loaded with slight calories. This remains one of the signature dishes of Telangana. It’s a perfect cheat meal one must try.
Ingredients:
Corn kernels: 4-5
Garlic cloves: 10 (as per your taste you can either increase or decrease)
Ginger: 1-inch stick
Green chillies: 5-6 (can adjust to your taste)
Jeera / Cumin: 1 tbsp
Salt as per your taste
Oil: for deep frying
Few curry leaves
Finely chopped coriander
Preparation:
Mix all the ingredients in a grinder to coarse paste.
Add chopped curry and coriander leaves to this paste.
Heat oil for deep frying. Take a portion of coarse paste, shape it into round and deep fry a few at a time till they turn golden brown in colour both the sides.
Put them on tissue paper for some time to soak the excess oil and it is ready to serve.
Serve vada with Desi chicken curry.
